Easton J. Thomson

I have always had a love for books. When I was young, I started collecting non-fiction books about religion, ancient and medieval cultures, and the wars and warriors that shaped the world. I dedicated much of my free time to studying martial arts, tactics of war, and the great battles throughout history. My favorite cultures to explore were Roman, Japanese, Mongolian, Norse/Viking, and medieval history in general.

I grew up on a cattle ranch in small-town Utah. I have many fond memories of sitting around a campfire with my father and brothers, sharing stories from our heritage of courageous men doing heroic things. My favorite fantasy books included intricate stories of boys becoming men—fierce warriors, and great leaders who sacrificed themselves to protect those most vulnerable.

After marrying my wife, I was introduced to Dungeons & Dragons. I found an unexpected outlet in using my knowledge of historical conflict to weave intricate storylines and quests for my players. The volatility of co-creating an interactive story with others was always a thrill for me. However, as a busy father and businessman, I found it difficult to play regularly and became frustrated by the unresolved storylines floating around in my head.

When my children were born, I felt a strong drive to protect them. This led to my discovery of the evils of child abuse and human trafficking. It hurt my soul to know that the innocent cry out for help without anyone to save them. I began to recognize a dramatic change in the modern stories written about men, no longer portraying masculinity as the strength and protection of society as it has been throughout all of history. This created and fueled my passion for speaking out about the atrocities of child trafficking and advocating for the restoration of strong, masculine men to defend them.

Eventually, I decided that my unfinished D&D quests were worth writing down instead of living forever inside my mind. I began to use my talent for storytelling and combining it with my passion for protecting children to create stories that not only engage readers but move them to act against these real-world horrors. I am extremely excited to bring back stories that encourage men to rise up and become the strength of society once again. I hope you come away from my books feeling inspired to unite against those who would harm children and seek ways to make a difference within your individual communities.
